We are seeking an enthuasitc teacher aide to join our support centre. Join our great team of teacher aides to work alongside students and enable them to achieve their learning needs.
Your duties will include:
Working with students under teacher direction on a variety of tasks, e.g. reading program, making things in the workshop, participating in tasks in the horticulture gardens or shed
Monitoring and observing students to build trusting relationships with other students and teachers
Making adaptations to lesson plans and resources to ensure learning objectives are achieved in response to individual students' needs as agreed to by the teacher.
The successful candidates will be:
Empathetic, flexible, and able to easily build rapport with students
Of a positive disposition and a willingness to help students succeed by building their confidence and learning abilities able to uphold professional and ethical boundaries
Enjoy being part of a team working with supportive colleagues
Experience with Non-Verbal students with Autism will be valuable.
This is a part time position (25-27 hours per week - term time only).
